This week our class took a trip to B&G Machine and I got to see some of the engines I might be working with in the very near future. I also got to see a company that really knows how to treat there employees, which makes me excited for that future just around the corner.
I learned several things about hydraulics this week as well. Jef had us working hard Monday morning. we drew the schematics for a winch/windless and a Peterbilt truck hydraulic system. I now understand a lot more about how flow and restriction work in the system. We also got a little taste of how fast a few hydraulic fittings can really burn a hole in your pocket.
Also this week the clutch went out on my car. I have never had to completely pulled my car apart so this will be interesting. My father was too proud to let me go to the school and use all those great tools and lifts, so my little Geo is sitting at a 45 degree angle on four tires and a one day job has become a three day job full of frustration and accomplishment.
