This week I was able to find a shop to work in. Its not a big one and its not dominantly diesel but I feel it will help me learn the basic mechanics skills I am lacking in. There is no better way to learn. Today I learned how to replace a starter and solenoid in an older Ford pick up.  I also did an LOF on the Ford before I help diagnose and fix the problem. Then I did a pressure test on the coolant system in a van and found the leakage point which was the plug right behind the starter, the name of which escapes me at the moment.

I also started working on the motor cycle that my grandfather used to drive me to elementary school in when I was a tike. It hasn't been driven in eight years. It needs; all moving parts lubricated, a clean carberator, the break light connected to the back break needs attention and quite a few screw are in dire need of replacement. I look forward to my inexpensive transport and for the summer breeze.

  1. Ah, good! I was happy to see you this morning and could instantly tell how pleased you were to be working. Me too. We'll get there, keep at it and you'll do fine.
